Deacon Brodies Whisky Bar in Ottawa invites you to an unforgettable scotch tasting experience on Sunday, April 13th at 4 PM. Whisky lovers, and whisky-curious people, this is your chance to explore five exceptional drams, guided by whisky expert David Sharp.
As always, the tasting will include light snacks and complimentary chocolates to enhance the flavours of each pour. Here’s what’s on the menu:
1. Glen Grant 12 Year Old – A beautifully balanced Speyside whisky with notes of orchard fruits, vanilla, and a touch of spice. Smooth and elegant, it’s a perfect starting dram.
2. Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo – A unique and limited-edition expression inspired by the vibrant flavours of Japan. Expect exotic spice, roasted nuts, and hints of umami richness in this bold innovation from Glenmorangie.
3. Glenrothes 11 Year Old – Discovery Series (Sherry Cask Matured) by Gordon & MacPhail – A sherried delight featuring rich dried fruit, honeyed sweetness, and warming spice. A fantastic example of Glenrothes' character through the lens of a top independent bottler.
4. Talisker 8 Year Old – Tidal Churn (2024 Special Release) – A robust and dynamic whisky from the Isle of Skye, offering a burst of peppery smoke, coastal salinity, and a long, warming finish. Aptly named, it captures the wild sea energy of Skye.
5. Laphroaig Cairdeas 2024 Edition – A bold Islay malt with intense peat smoke, maritime brine, and a complex interplay of sweetness and savoury depth.
